Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×16 “Welcome to the Tombs”

As the prison group prepares to deal with Woodbury once and for all, Andrea struggles to get out of a tight spot and the Governor hears a ringing in his ears which means – those of you who know TV tropes will attest – very bad things are about to happen. And best of all, I’m getting better at knowing when – and when not – to divide sentences with dashes. Let’s move in.

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×15 “This Sorrowful Life”

This week’s episode is all about turnarounds, as Rick and Merle come to realize what needs to change, and what price they will have to pay for that to happen.

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×14 “Prey”

This week’s episode of The Walking Dead left me with an uneasy feeling about what’s going to happen next, which is something I haven’t been able to say about most of this season.

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×13 “The Arrow on the Doorpost”

Just today, my comic partner and I were discussing the appeal of small, independent food joints vs. huge chains. We agreed that, although more expensive, the food is almost always worth it. What’s interesting about his neighbourhood is that the people who live there have enough to keep the small businesses going, while McDonalds and Tim Hortons down the street wage war against all competition, and each other. It’s a Game of Thrones kind of deal, where these major chains really don’t care about the few thousand here or there a small business can take from them; they’re too busy competing with the other big chains to notice that no one but them gives a damn. That was the exact feeling I got after finishing this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, “Arrow on the Doorpost.”

This shot just amuses me so much. The idea of being in a ride like that for hours....

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×12 “Clear”

The self is an unwinnable battle that we place upon ourselves, struggling to find a balance between who we are, who we wish we are, what we need to be, and how others see us. The question that this phenomenal episode of The Walking Dead, titled “Clear,” asks is: Who do we become when we’ve lost everything that tells us who we are?

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead 3×11 “I aint a Judas”

This week’s episode of The Walking Dead gives us the long awaited reunion of Andrea and the people who drove off thinking she was dead. Ironically, they’re the ones to wind up in a decrepit prison surrounded by zombies, while she ends up in Woodbury, where they have lemonade. When life gives you lemons, right?

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead S3EP10 “Home”

This week on what I would consider my favorite episode this season: an attack on the prison leaves the Clan wounded, Darryl finally stands up to Merle, Woodbury is as vicious as ever and Michonne can’t shoot worth a damn. I’ve got two good things that stood out this week and one not so good, so let’s jump in.

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead S3EP9 “The Suicide King”

After a successful rescue attempt within a marginally less successful rescue attempt, resulting in the deaths of Oscar and that girl in the short shorts (both of which make me sad, Oscar because he seemed cool, and short shorts girl because she was totally the most deserving), Merle and Darryl are reunited. This season re-premiere of The Walking Dead, titled “The Suicide King,” shows us the aftermath of everything involved in that intense and awesome sub-finale. I am just inventing so many terms here.

Spoiled Beef: The Walking Dead S3EP8 “Made to Suffer”

In this intense and awesome mid-season finale, everyone gets in on the action, resulting in some positively gripping firefighting. We meet with a much sought- after character from the comics after a long wait. And, most importantly, we start to see the cracks in a character I could swear was as cracked as he was going to get.
