Crash Canyon is a new animated TV show premiering Sunday at 9pm EST on Teletoon. It tells the story of the Wendells, a family that while on vacation, plummet 2 miles to the bottom of a canyon. They escape unharmed, and discover a community living at the bottom of this canyon. The Wendells, fishes out of water in a town of fishes out of water (does that make them in the water?) attempt to find their niche and keep their relative sanity in the canyon.
In an animation style reminiscent of Family Guy and American Dad, Crash Canyon is a fresh Canadian look at the “animated family finds themselves in wacky situation once a week” comedies that are prevalent in these times. Wow. That’s almost actually a genre. The show has interesting plot lines, well-written characters, snappy dialogue, and, heck, it’s pretty funny.
I recommend this show, but I recommend watching it in order. This show does not let you jump in. It’s not a show you’ll pick up after 1 or 2 episodes. You have to commit. But if you’ll pardon the turn of phrase, if you dive into Crash Canyon, you won’t be able to get out.
